Apple Could Be Worth $1 Trillion Within a Year

Apple is currently worth something like zillion dollars (read: $656 billion) and it has no signs of slowing down. The question , when are they going to reach the unreachable summit? When is Apple going to break the trillion dollar ceiling?

RELATED:

According to Bilton, analysts and investors oakley sunglasses discount think a reasonable assumption given the current trends is that Apple will crack the $1 trillion plateau on April 9, 2015, at around 11 a.m., which seems strangely specific all things considered. But, Bilton warns, there are other analysts (read: more fun analysts) who think Apple could do it within the year. Yep, they think Apple could do it by August 16, 2013. No specific time was given.

Having Apple skyrocket up the stock market charts with a bullet to the tune of another $350 billion is unlikely. “It’s hard to imagine Apple growing any faster," said Michael E. Driscoll, chief executive a big data and predictive analytics company, who thinks the 2015 guesstimate is right. But with baseball snapback hats the new iPhone in an hour, well, anything is possible. It's not even that wildly great of a phone. When the original iPhone came out, it was better looking and performing than anything else out there. The iPhone 5 gave us features offered in other phones with a smaller screen than competitors.

"Ultimately my goal was to make AT&T and Apple aware there was a problem, and that something should be done to fix it," he writes. The scariest part is there are probably more people like him. With disciples this loyal and product calendar as predetermined as Apple's, the trillion dollar mark isn't hard to imagine.

There is a chance Apple never reaches a $1 trillion valuation, though. As Bilton , Microsoft was once worth $616 billion. Obama mocks Romney: ‘What kind of inside job is he talking about?’

WOODBRIDGE, Va.—President Barack Obama took another shot at Mitt Romney's suggestion that 47 percent of Americans have a "victim" mentality, casting his opponent as out of touch with the country.

"I don't believe we can get very far with leaders who write off half the nation as victims who will never take responsibility," Obama declared at a rally here.

The president also defended his suggestion before a Univision forum yesterday, in which he said he'd learned "you can't change Washington from the inside." Obama oakley sunglasses sale said that he meant the only real change comes from outside Washington—and mocked Romney for twisting his comments.

"My opponent got really excited. He stood up at a rally and proudly declared, 'I'll get the job done from the inside,'" Obama said. "What kind of inside job is he talking about? ... We don't want an inside job in Washington. We want change in Washington. ... That can't happen if you've written off half the country."

It was the second baseball hats time in 24 hours that Obama took a shot at Romney's "47 percent" comment, which was captured in a secretly taped video of the Republican candidate speaking at a Florida fundraiser in May. The video, leaked to Mother Jones magazine, showed Romney saying that Obama's supporters—which he estimated to be about 47 percent of the country—view themselves as victims and are reliant on government handouts.

Romney has downplayed his comments, suggesting he was just talking about the political landscape of the race. During his appearance at the Univision forum, Romney insisted he was running to represent "100 percent of America."

But the GOP candidate's remarks have clearly given an opening to Obama, who wove in multiple references to the video throughout his appearance in Virginia, a hotly contested battleground state.

A Washington Post poll released earlier this week found Obama had significantly expanded his lead in the state, edging out Romney by 8 points—52 percent to 44 percent.

At least 11,000 people turned out to see the president here—spreading across the outfield of a minor-league baseball stadium. Echoing his speech at the Democratic supreme snapback National Convention, Obama repeatedly insisted he needed another term to accomplish the "change" he promised as a candidate in 2008.

"We've always said that change takes more than one term or even one president. It certainly takes more than one party," Obama said, insisting he would work with Republicans if they were willing.

Making yet another reference to Romney's "47 percent" remark, Obama acknowledged that half the country didn't vote for him four years ago—and that half the country might not support him again in November. But he explained he was not running "to create Democratic jobs or Republican jobs" but rather "American jobs," and that he wasn't running to improve circumstances in "blue states" versus "red states." Obama insisted he's running to represent all Americans—whether he wins someone's vote or not.

"I still believe we are cheap aviator sunglasses not as divided as our politics suggest," Obama said. "I still believe we have more in common than the pundits tell us."

To his supporters, he added, "I still believe in you, and I'm asking you to keep believing in me."

Smuggled iPhone 5s Sell for as Much as $3,700 in Moscow

In the days of the Soviet Union a tourist in Moscow could pay for his or her entire trip by selling a suitcase full of smuggled Levi's jeans. Now, one could make substantially more sneaking a handbag full of the latest Apple products into Russia.

In this image conscious city, where Bentleys are so common that many owners simply curb park them, plenty of people are willing to plunk oakley sunglasses discount down some serious cash to be among the first in the country with the latest device.

The hot item this week is the new Apple iPhone 5, which went on sale around the world today. Apple does not have a store in Russia, however, and the company has not announced a release date for Russia. That hasn't stopped a number of enterprising individuals from purchasing them elsewhere and bringing them into the country.

A simple internet search yields a number of gray market vendors promising to have the iPhone 5 in your hands as early as tonight. But it's going to cost you.

A 16 gigabyte iPhone 5 is going for around 70,000 rubles, or about $2,200. Other vendors are quoting prices up to $3,700. That's several times baseball snapback hats what it will cost you in an Apple store in the United States, where an unlocked version retails for $649.

When ABC News called several of the vendors, each promised to deliver the device by Saturday. Several said they expected a shipment to be flown in tonight.

Asked when he could deliver an iPhone 5, one vendor who only identified himself as Dima replied confidently: "Tomorrow." He promised to have any of the phone's variations, either black or white and in any of the three sizes available. "Cash only," he said.

The vendors say they're getting overwhelmed by calls asking for the iPhone 5, outpacing demand for the new iPad when it was released earlier this year.

Another vendor named Victor say his phones are coming from France. Others said their first shipment is also coming from France, with more expected from the United States later in the week.

Each vendor insisted they cheap hello kitty hats were operating legally, but wouldn't say if they had paid import duties to bring them into the country. Victor said his shop would offer a two week replacement guarantee on the phones, along with the one year warranty provided by Apple. Others said it was not possible to come see the devices in person because they did not have a physical store.

The iPhone 5 uses a nano SIM card, smaller than the micro SIM used in previous models, but it appears that Russian phone companies have anticipated the phone arriving in country before it officially goes on sale. One of them promises to have nano SIM cards available by Saturday. Other companies are planning to have them available by Tuesday. One of the internet vendors also said he could produce a nano SIM card in his shop.

Even before the iPhone 5 came out, wholesale oakley aviator sunglasses smugglers have made good money bringing in the latest devices from the United States and Europe. For example the previous Apple phone, the iPhone 4S, is available from telephone companies for just under 30,000 rubles, which is a shade under $1,000. That device also sold for $649 in the United States before today, providing a healthy profit margin for anyone willing to sneak one into the country.

iPhone 5 launch draws Apple fans across Asia

HONG KONG (AP) -- In a now familiar global ritual, Apple fans jammed shops from Sydney to Tokyo to pick up the tech juggernaut's latest iPhone.

Eager buyers formed long lines Friday at Apple Inc. stores in Australia and Japan to be the first to get their hands on the latest version of the smartphone. In Hong Kong and Singapore, buyers had to sign up online for the chance to pick up the device at a prearranged time.oakley sunglasses wholesale The first customers in Hong Kong were greeted by staff cheering, clapping, chanting "iPhone 5! iPhone 5!" and high-fiving them as they were escorted one-by-one through the front door.

The smartphone is also being launched in the U.S., Britain, Canada, France and Germany. It will go on sale in 22 more countries a week later. The iPhone 5 is thinner, lighter, has a taller screen, faster processor, updated software and can work on faster "fourth generation" mobile networks.

The iPhone 5 has become a hot seller despite initial lukewarm reviews and new map software that is glitch prone. Apple received 2 million orders in the first 24 hours of announcing its release date, more than twice the number for the iPhone 4S in the same period when that phone launched a year ago.

In a sign of the intense demand, police in Osaka, Japan, were investigating the theft of nearly 200 iPhones 5s, including 116 from one shop alone, Kyodo News reported.

Analysts have estimated Apple will ship as many as 10 million of the new iPhones by the end of September.

Some Australian fans went to extremes to be among wholesale snapback hats the first by arriving at Apple's flagship  store in downtown Sydney on Tuesday — three days ahead of the release.

Todd Foot, 24, nabbed the coveted first spot and spent about 18 hours a day in a folding chair and catching a few hours' sleep each night in a tent on the sidewalk.

Foot's dedication was largely a marketing stunt, however. He writes product reviews for a technology website that will give away the phone after Foot reviews it.

"I just want to get the phone so I can feel it, compare it and put it on our website," he said while slumped in his chair.

In Singapore, which doesn't have an Apple store, cheap new era snapback Liu Ting Ting waited 12 hours to be the first of 10,000 people in the Southeast Asian city-state granted the opportunity to buy one at a Singapore Telecommunications launch-day event.

"I have this I-need-to-be-first mentality because this is the first time I'm buying an iPhone," said Liu, who is dumping her Blackberry because she believes the iPhone 5's photo and video capabilities will help with her journalism studies.

"If I wasn't the first, I would have gone home," she said.

Not everyone lining up outside Hong Kong's Apple store was an enthusiast. University student Kevin Wong, waiting to buy a black 16 gigabyte model for 5,588 Hong Kong dollars ($720), said he was getting one "for the cash." He planned to immediately resell it to one of the numerous grey market retailers catering to mainland Chinese buyers. China is one of Apple's fastest growing markets but a release date for the iPhone 5 there has not yet been set.

Wong was required to give his local identity card number when he signed up for his iPhone on Apple's website. The requirement prevents purchases by tourists including mainland Chinese, who have a reputation for scooping up high-end goods on trips to Hong Kong because there's no sales tax and because of the strength of China's currency. Even so, the mainlanders will probably buy it from the resellers "at a higher price — a way higher price," said Wong, who hoped to make a profit of HK$1,000 ($129).

Tokyo's glitzy downtown Ginza cheap polarized sunglasses district not only had a long line in front of the Apple store, but another across the main intersection at Softbank, the first carrier in Japan to offer iPhones.

Hidetoshi Nakamura, a 25-year-old auto engineer, said he's an Apple fan because it's an innovator.

"I love Apple," he said, standing near the end of a two-block-long line, reading a book and listening to music on his iPod.

"It's only the iPhone for me."

Long queues greet Apple's iPhone 5 in Sydney

SYDNEY/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Inc's iPhone 5 hit stores around the globe on Friday, with fans snapping up the device cheap oakley sunglasses sale that is expected to fuel a huge holiday quarter for the consumer giant.

The new phone -- which was unveiled last week -- went on sale first in Australia when stores there opened at 8.00 a.m. local time (2200 GMT, Thursday).

Long lines marked the phone's debut in Sydney, with an estimated 600 people queuing around the block and customers limited to buying a maximum of two phones.

Most of those waiting were aficionados already hooked on Apple's earlier iPhones and best-selling iPad tablet computers.

"I feel like if I leave it at home, new era fitted hats I go a bit crazy," James Vohradsky, a 20-year-old student said of his current iPhone. "I have to drive back and get it. I can't do my normal day without it," said Vohradsky, who had queued for 17 hours with his younger sister.

The California company has booked more than 2 million pre-orders for the device in the first 24 hours, double the first-day sales of the previous iPhone 4S.

Some analysts expect Apple to sell up to 10 million iPhone 5 models in the remaining days of September.

The new phone has a larger, 4-inch screen and is slimmer and far lighter than the previous model. The iPhone 5 supports the faster 4G network and also comes with a number of software updates, including Apple's new in-house maps feature.

The new maps feature, cheap tisa snapbacks however has been criticized by some users for a number of geographical errors, missing information and a lack of features.

Vohradsky said the lack of mobile payment chip was also "a bit of a letdown". Apple did not embed Near Field Communication technology used to turn cellphones into mobile wallets into the iPhone 5.

The iPhone is Apple's highest-margin product and accounts for half of its annual revenue. Apple has said it will make initial deliveries of the iPhone 5 on Friday in the United States and most of the major European markets, such as France, Germany and the United Kingdom. The phone then goes on sale on September 28 in 22 other countries.

Apple plans to sell the new phone in 100 countries by the end of the year.

Influential oakley aviator sunglasses reviewer Walt Mossberg labeled it the best smartphone on the market but criticized the mapping application.

The latest iPhone comes as competition in the smartphone market has reached a fever pitch with Apple up against phones that run on Google Inc's Android software. Android has become the most-used mobile operating system in the world, while Apple's key supplier and rival, Samsung Electronics, has taken the lead in smartphone sales.

Slovaks ban Czech booze as bootleg poisoning scare widens

BRATISLAVA (Reuters) - Slovakia banned the import and sale of Czech spirits on Tuesday after 22 people died in its central European neighbour from drinking bootleg vodka and rum containing poisonous methanol.

The Slovak move followed a similar ban in Poland on Sunday and showed that Czech authorities have not wholesale oakley sunglasses been able to bring their biggest health scare in decades under control.

The Czechs introduced a ban on all liquor containing more than 20 percent alcohol on Friday, forcing retailers to pull 20 million bottles off the shelves and dealing a blow to pubs and cocktail bars serving locals and tourists alike.

Slovakia followed suit after eight Slovaks were taken into hospital in the eastern town of Presov on Sunday after drinking Czech-made spirits at a party.

"We ... came to a conclusion that it is necessary to prevent further consumption and snapback hats sales of any Czech-made alcohol in Slovakia," Slovak Healthcare Minister Zuzana Zvolenska told reporters.

Agriculture Minister Lubomir Jahnatek said the ban would remain in place until Czech authoritiesgained control of the situation.

Four of the poisoned Slovaks were sent home on Tuesday and the other four were in good condition, the Healthcare Ministry said. Some 700 customs supreme hats officers were visiting sites across the country together with police to test suspect spirits.

Apart from the deaths, dozens of other people have been admitted to hospital in the Czech Republicwith methanol poisoning in the past two weeks, and some have gone blind.

Czech police have arrested 23 people on suspicion of producing or distributing the poisonous bootleg alcohol, a profitable business that avoids excise and value-added taxes.

The country's spirits makers estimate up to 25 percent of the alcohol in circulation is bootleg - often cheap vodka and rum made from industrial alcohol via a simple chemical process and sold under fake labels.

Police have been investigating how methanol got into the spirits. One theory is that it may come cheap oakley sunglasses from windscreen wiper fluid, possibly from Poland.

Methanol can sometimes result from home distillation, common in the Czech Republic, if it is done clumsily, but the victims said they had purchased bottles at kiosks and stores.

The Czechs, makers of the original Pilsner beer, have the world's highest beer consumption of about 140 litres per capita per year and are among the world's heaviest drinkers in general.
